Leaving out the details ...

I find that I constantly strive to get everything into a sketch. I took the children and that darned dog, Fudge out in the fog and the wet - I was determined to try and sketch from some photos I took and resist putting the detail in - nearly killed me!

Oh YEAH lovin' the fogginess of it! Congrats on the new toy, by the way.

Oh my goodness! How do you do this? I also love the fogginess of the sketch! You have captured the beauty of that moment perfectly.

Excellently done -- the fogginess really works here.

Congratulations! It is a fabulous drawing - the details weren't needed at all in order to establish the focus.

It's so beautiful and delicate with a hint of nostalgia, that I find a distinct feature of your works. Or am I crazy?

Fantastic picture. I could see where lots of families would "see" their own children through the haziness of this one.

Hello - I found you via surfing and wanted to say that your art has inspired me to create more ART this year!

I've enjoyed viewing your work - especially the two ladies at tea...pretty neat that they have no idea that they're the subject of some great art in a stranger's moleskine. I'm sure they don't know what a moleskine is!

Keep Creating - your work is awesome!

Oooh I like that. Especially the hood for some reason! Nice to see you back in work (boo) and let's hope this year is happier and healthier than recent times!

I only did one picture over Christmas and I've not even scanned it in with MY new scanner yet, so you win. ;-)

Whew, glad you're still around after leaving out the details, Steve! (And after the attack of red noses... and hopefully the floppies have forgiven you for the new toy...)

Truly beautiful & so filled with emotion this is. I never thought that simplicity in art could open up windows to include other things, like the affection you show for your family here. Food for thought.

All the very best for 2009 for you, your family, and that darned dog Fudge!

(Decided I'm just going to comment on Blogger with my Blogger ID, then I can at least follow up a lot easier, now isn't that a grand idea for the new year?)

When I saw this sketch, I wept.
I have never seen anything so beautiful put down on paper!
Words can not express how lovely these little children are.
Thank you!
