I set myself up to spend the day painting, went to get something and the children were in there. 'Can we paint?' 'Pleeeeease!' Oh well, I'll wait until they are in bed.

I think we're the ones who are 'blown away' looking at YOUR Blog!! Not the other way around...
You do amazing work! I love the whimsy of the 'Book Illustration' and I especially like this one with the children being creative.
Your sketches are TOP NOTCH! Hmmm, maybe some "student grade" supplies are in order for Christmas gifts this year?! It's a delight to encourage young minds to create. . . enjoy!!!
Steven-I am always a bit speechless when visiting your blog. You have such breadth of talent--is there anything you can't do?!
Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog--from you espcially-it means the world! I know what you mean about seeing the other side of the world through each others art. Who knew this blogging thing would provide such an education?! Lisa
Gorgeous work! I really enjoyed your blog. As a grandmother and retired art teacher, I especially enjoyed your work with the children. My grandson goes along with me when we do the World Wide Sketch Crawl, and he is always busy creating something. The oldest one also loved to draw when he was younger, but now he is more interested in cars and his job.
This is incredible. The mysteries of successful cross-hatching have yet to reveal themselves to me ... very much admire those who can do it! Great stuff.
Your sketches are amazing! I especially love this one -- my granddaughter eagerly tries any and all art supplies that I bring along. We have great fun sketching together.
That's such a stunning picture - I love the detail in the hair and you can almost feel the concentration! (Not yours - the kids'...) It'll be interesting to see where you go next with the cross hatching - it's working really well.

This is amazing stuff. Glad you joined the group. Will look forward to seeing your work on a regular basis.
Man, what I gift! I mean the gift of your kids wanting in on the creativity. A gift given to you speaking so clearly of the one you are giving them.
Omigod, Stephen this is so beautiful. Please stop it now. The lines are exquisite. Beautiful. That's gonna be one stunning Moley.
A gorgeous sketch, just fabulous! June

The world through the eyes of children is pretty special...being there with art supplies in hand for them is magical...What a treasured time!
Oh wow...even better!!!
Treasures for sure. You sure have the right priorities. Love the drawing, too
Best for both - they got to paint and play creatively and you got to beautifully record one of life's greatest moments in your sketch. FABULOUS!

Sometimes the kids being in the wrong place at the right time can be serendipity!! Lovely!
