Pull me through ...

I've not had chance to draw recently but have been tidying up my art studio in readiness (honest!) I've also let my journal lapse a little too, and dug it out ready to begin again in earnest. On the very first page I did this sketch from the opposite bank on Derwentwater in the Lake District. I felt it was appropriate to post it, in view of torrential rainfall in Cumbria and the many roads and houses flooded out. I love the place, especially in the rain but Lordy! not that much!!! Ironically, this is the very same journal that suffered rain damage at the bottom of my back during a storm whilst in London. Bit of a water theme going on here...

Lovely sketch. I can relate to the rain as last month we had a 500 year flood. We couldn't go anywhere for three days until it went down, but we didn't loose anything like hundreds did around us.

Irina - you are so kind. I'll keep on posting and promised myself i'll do more.
Alex - thanks for keep dropping by and your inspirational comments.
Kumiko Mae - it was nice of you to comment on any of them! Glad you like my work!
Ramona - (fab name!)I love the rain and the way storms change the look of the things we get used to seeing in the same old way. Not happy with the destruction and misery it brings though!
Catriona- you must see lots of it up there in Scotland, I was up in Callender at Easter, staying by the banks of the river Leny. Normally a trickle, it was roaring!
Donna - my soul is in there. Well some of it, it never turns out just how you want it, does it?

Just found your blog, good to follow a UK one. I painted one for Cumbria also, being there this September I couldn't believe the devastation. Keep up the posting, want to see more.
