Bless His ever-loving heart ...

I think I have finished Jesee's painting of his mum. He took some photos of her on his phone last time he went home to show friends where he used to live and how his mum cooked. It was too good an opportunity to miss so I asked if he would let me do a painting of her - he can take all the credit for the composition. Not only a good photographer, he also built her a new house! (I hope my mother doesn't read this and get big ideas). The house looks fantastic! He tells me his mum is reluctant to move into it, being set in her ways, what a gifted and truly wonderful person he is!!!

I love the atmosphere. Wow, the cooking style for your friend's mother makes this an automatically interesting subject. Your painting style enhances it beautifully.

Sweet, that he built her a house!

It's right in every way. Puts me fully in the scene with the subject.

Wow, you have really captured a moment in time. Great smoke! It fills the space beautifully. Can you say that about smoke?

Fantastic painting.

This has a nice moody feel to it. I've never cooked over an open fire but have always wanted to.

Yes it is great composition but the skill of artistic splendor is yours!

This is simply professional! :) I like how the picture was taken, and how you reproduced it, with the steam and the lights through the window and the fire... shadows.. everything is simply perfect!

This is so beautiful and sure of itself. I love the contrast of warm and cool colours--and the backlighting is fabulous. What a great picture!
