Here is the second ink drawing I did of Sudbrooke woods, this one was on handmade A1 size watercolour paper so I had to photograph it and didn't quite get the light right. I took a second photo of the detail underneath

These studies are really great. There is such a mood to them.
I commented on flickr, but this is just too beautiful to let pass!! Such wonderful atmosphere!!!!!!!
Wow, that's really encouraging, knowing that you are back in the zone again, Steve!
And commissions, even. You go, dude!
Beautiful play between darkness and light, and for me personally, a very touching work of art.
You've captured moving out of darkness... pull my onward. Love your trees!
This is beautiful - dark, mysterious.
Absolutely beautiful!
This is stunning Stephen!
Wow, really beautiful drawings of the woods, really atmospheric, just like my local woods in certain scottish weather! Look forward to seeing some more. Can see them on a gallery wall....?
Fantastic details! This is just out of this world :)
The first looks like a beautiful photograpah, a silouette. hard to imagine it's all ink and pen.
more magic.
Wow, that one's amazing! Really fairytale storybook territory, I adore the lighting. Tell Nats to lock her doors. ;-)
Hey, make sure Tessa sees this - she'll probably want one.
I see what you mean about the spreading ink thing - it works so well layered like that.
This serious is so moving. Amazing work.
Wonderful mood and atmosphere!
These are very intriguing and well done.
These are really really beautiful Stephen... just so atmospheric and lovely. i always loved (and was also a bit scared of) Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac when i was little and these have an element of that fairytale magic - lovely!
Absolutely love it!! Remind me to scale Nat's wall while she is in Cuba!! I will be offering to house sit!! Ha ha haaa! Should fit easily in the back of the car! Dan x
Hi! Just wanted to tell you that I've included you among the 7 bloggers I want to pass on the Kreative Blogger Award, probably you've already received it or will be glad to receive or do not care at all. My choice of your blog is the opportunity to show my attitude to your posts and my respect. It's simple, just post 7 things about you and pass it on to 7 bloggers that you find worthy of it, or do with it what ever you want. http://irinapictures.blogspot.com/2009/10/birthday-present.html
I really like the mood you have created in these studies.
Jean
