I finally got round to painting the children on the jetty catching crabs. It was strange to do a warm painting after all that snow! It is timely though, I'm going back to Runswick Bay this weekend, staying in a cottage with friends. Wine and log fires, nice.

Beautiful, Steve! Where on earth do you find the time to fit so much art into your week!? (I'm guessing you don't do the dishes around the house, do you? Either that, or you don't sleep.)
From the images I could find of Runswick Bay (thank you, Google) and the numerous references to it being a picture postcard haven for artists, I'd say you are in for a good time, especially if there are wine and log fires involved!

Hi Steve, this reminds me of my childhood holidays on Filey Brig, North Yorkshire coast, looking for crabs. It works so well painted, the surf is brilliant. I enjoyed the sketch in black and white you posted in the same theme last month. A fantastic translation in to colour.

Well, your job sounds VERY creative to me!
And it makes me wonder if perhaps *ANY* job can be interpreted as creative to some level. I know being a PA calls for creativity as well ... perhaps I just don't always recognise it because of what I *want* to see as creativity.
Not drawing a line between everyday life & creativity, that might be the magic ingredient needed!

Love it - there's so much going on and you can't help following every child's line of sight to watch what's holding their concentration. And they're all concentrating so hard. Beautiful picture. :)
